Large Letter Reverse, Victorian issue

J. COLQUHOUN, DRUM MAJOR, 65th REGIMENT FOOT. 1840

With copy of service record. Born Westminster, London. Enlisted as a 12 year old Drummer Boy into the Grenadier Guards on 2/5/1812. Transferred to the 65th upon promotion to Drum Major on 25/7/1825. Served 8 years in the West Indies, 2 years 5 months in North America and the remainder of his service at home. Retired 31/5/1840 after 28 years service.

This his only medal.
